Gemtoll SA (Pty) Ltd was established in 2020.
Established by a group of innovative mining technology specialists together with minerals and commodity traders who invested a lot of time in researching a greener way of upgrading ores and minerals to high grade concentrates and metals using environmentally clean methods. We are driven to make improvements in eliminating the harmful traditional leeching technologies used in metals and mineral extraction and our mission is to invest in environmental and sustainable projects for the betterment of all.
At Gemtoll SA together with our technical partner Trip 7 Resources, we possess a comprehensive range of capabilities and operations encompassing research & development, project management and innovation throughout the minerals value chain. Our services encompass mineral processing, production of metal-based products, process development, and post-mining support. Our processing solutions can be implemented in any remote region and require very limited technical training to operate.

The Future
Gemtoll SA CEO, Howard Butler firmly believes that over the next 3 years we will transform the way battery minerals are upgraded in the future and set the platform for other EV battery manufacturers to set up shop nearby in the Industrial Development Zone (IDZ).
Battery storage system assembly plants could also tap into and feed off the high-quality products which Gemtoll SA can supply rather than importing from Europe, Asia and the US.
Other plans further along shall focus predominantly on copper, gold and antimony but will capture other minerals such as nickel, manganese and cobalt found in the copper ores. Based on extensive trials, we should be able to upgrade the copper from 4% up to a 60% concentrate.
All plants will be 100% environmentally friendly using non-toxic chemicals in the process.

Which minerals does Gemtoll currently focus on?
Our primary focus includes lithium, antimony, copper, gold, and various critical minerals such as cobalt, nickel, and manganese. We also have proven extraction techniques for PGM’s and rare earths using our proprietary tech.

Is Gemtoll’s technology already in use?
Yes. Apart from other NDA protected projects, we currently operate a 2-ton-per-hour antimony pilot plant in Johannesburg and are preparing to launch large-scale lithium extraction facilities in Zimbabwe and Botswana. Our systems have been validated and are ready for scaled deployment.
